Çeşme

Sun & Sea; ÇEŞME

Known as "Cysus" during the time of the Romans, Çeşme was the port of Erythrai, one of the 12 İonic cities located in the Western Anatolian Region. Today Ildırı (Erythrai) continues to play an important role in archelogy and tourism while during the 7th and 8th centuries BC it was a significant shareholder in economics.

Today Çeşme is not only a beautiful and well known vacation spot in İzmir, but it also is known throughout Turkey. Only 45 minutes from the city, within one hour you can leave the hustle and bustle of the city and cool off in the waters of the Aegean Sea. Whether it be its climate, beaches, historical identity, tourism, architecture, entertainment and night life, Çeşme continues to be an important spot in the Aegean Region.

You Must

Never leave Çeşme before visiting its beaches and historical places, and without tasting its famous mastic ice cream and jam, and trying windsurfing above the foamy waves.

Feel the breeze on your face; ALAÇATI

Alaçatı is a district of Çeşme, only 7 kilometers away from the Centrum of  İzmir, its unique village style houses, its Aegean architecture the integration of Turkish and Greek styles, with its “Arnavut Kaldırımı”, sidewalks made of small square shaped stone blocks, windmills belonging to the past century, and its Mastic gardens, remind us that Alaçatı is a charming antic town.

Natural Alaçatı Port, with its tranquil sea despite the ever blowing winds, is one of the rare places in the world suitable for windsurfing. Çark and Piyade beaches, with their sparkling sands, virtually without any wind at all, are fabulous places to meet the sea.
Alaçatı has been the host for 2005 European Windsurfing Championship. The first address in Turkey, when it comes to watersports.
